Authentic bourbon barrel heads are, uncleaned, unsanded, straight from the distillery to you. They are charred on the back but we do our best to scrape some of that off and contain in a plastic bag, as some will fall off while in transit.
These are about 21” in diameter, with a flat top surface of 19.5”-20” in diameter. Lids are held together with tongue and groove or dowels. We suggest you reinforce with glue and/or a backer. This will also help flatten them out and keep them flat for your use. Don’t be alarmed if the lid isn’t together when it arrives as you’ll be able to slide the tongue and groove or dowel back together.
The logos of each distillery are shown in the images. They are all applied with a stamp at the distillery and no one looks the same (all depends how and where they stamp it on the lid) but all will be legible in the sense that you can read & tell what distillery, even if a letter or two are not fully clear.
Though all heads need some reinforcing, the “Rough/warped” option is a lid that is warped/dirty and will need extra work to clean up or can be taken apart and used for pieces.

I needed some intact barrelheads for an aging project (insert/lids/ for small stainless hybrid barrels) and these were perfect. I had hoped to get some heads from fairly freshly dumped barrels to retain some of the bourbon character. I wasn't concerned with the look and Dustin suggested the "no/blurry stamp" option because he had some good ones that fit my needs. I ended up with 2 Jim Beam heads and 2 Markers Mark heads. Couldn't ask for better for aging fresh, white spirits. :)
I saw a picture of a Barrel Head w/ the Makers Mark logo on it on the internet so I made a copy. I took your Barrel Head and carefully assembled and glued it together. I sanded the front side smooth and drew and painted the Makers Mark logo on it. I think it came out pretty good. Stan Scates
